Naphtha or straight run gasoline is the light stream generated during atmospheric distillation of crude oil.
Naphtha’s applications are twofold – together with gas, it is the prime raw material for the initial petrochemical processes. It is also the first stage component of modern gasolines. However, in order for naphtha to become gasoline, meeting the modern performance and emission requirements, very complex secondary enhancement processes such as reforming, isomerization and alkylation are required. The components thus produced are blended in strict proportions.
Gasoline itself needs no explanation – it has been the staple motor fuel for more than a hundred years, growing in chemical complexity and performance.
This year we have maintained our position as a key supplier of naphtha and other light ends to refiners and petrochemical producers in Europe, Middle East and Central Asia.
Our regional desks are diligently working to develop the LPG business, the key markets being Turkey and the Mediterranean region.
