Oil Trading Operator
This position will be responsible for physical oil trading activities and to optimize and re-optimize the crude position and execute trading strategies.

Role:

Responsible for the contractual and financial performance of sales and purchase agreements. Work closely with traders to maximize profits on trades.

Dubai and Singapore

Responsibilities:

  • To handle strategic operations for physical movement and trading of Crude Oil, DPP and CPP across Middle East, Asia Pacific, Europe, Africa, and other locations.
  • To assist traders with any pre/post deal operational research and assist on trade execution for various commodities across the barrels, starting from proactively reviewing deal recaps, entering trades into the system, monitoring, and closely updating the trade lifecycle within ETRM system and during physical progress of the cargoes.
  • To review drafts, prepare contracts/countering of commercial contracts in coordination with legal/contracts team. Ensured contract compliance with all stakeholders to protect company interest, manage operational costs and profit margins.
  • Liaise with Trade finance for LC matters and/or given securities, ensure credit compliance for contractual payment obligations.
  • Coordinate with various internal and external stakeholders including but not limited to buyers, sellers, storage terminals, chartering team, insurance, vessel owners, ship brokers, agents, surveyors etc to ensure timely execution of the deal while minimising delays, ensuring minimum possible demurrage incurred, and maximizing savings & planned returns.
  • To work closely with Terminal/Storage and cargo Surveyors to ensure that quantity and quality specs are adhered to planning and contractual obligations to minimize cost and to maximize trading profit.
  • Manage documentary instructions, voyage orders, monitor all operational matters (including but not limited to vessel clearance, stowage planning, LOI issuances etc) and send surveyors and/or agents’ nomination timely.
  • To closely liaise with Risk management team and timely reporting to hedge team for pricing exposures and constantly update ETRM tool/hedge team for pricing and payment purposes and timely reporting to hedge team and traders and keep them closely updated.
  • To handle voyage and storage reconciliations and identify any loss/gain difference.
  • To liaise with demurrage/claims team for reporting and finalization of accrued demurrage and/or voyage claims/other claims.
  • To ensure timely management of accounts receivable and payables with regards to cargo payments, freight, handling of surveyors’ payments and agents’ invoices.
  • To develop and maintain professional relationships with customers and suppliers, providing excellent mutual support and help resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Follow internal procedures and ensure company’s policies are strictly adhered to and steps taken are in line with compliance.

Requirements:

  • Degree or Masters qualified in business management, or engineering.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in trading firms dealing with oil & petroleum commodities.
  • Experienced in interacting with different levels of seniority.
  • Proven computer skills and the willingness to learn new processes & applications.
  • High degree of initiative and ability to work independently.
  • Well organized and detail oriented who can work under pressure.
  • Able to work in a diverse culture.
