We are looking for an experienced market analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong understanding of financial market and instruments, as well as experience in statistical modeling and data analysis.
They will be responsible for developing and implementing market risk models, conducting stress tests and analyzing market data to identify risk factors. The goal is to help us make informed decisions that minimize risk and maximize returns.
Conduct quantitative analysis of market data to identify risk factors and trends.
Develop models to evaluate the impact of market risk on portfolios.
Perform stress tests to assess the potential impact of adverse market conditions.
Monitor positions for changes in value and take appropriate action to mitigate risk.
Generate reports detailing market risk exposure.
Keep abreast of new developments in market risk management and make recommendations for improvements.
Assist in the development and implementation of market risk policies and procedures.
Train junior staff in market risk management techniques.
Liaise with other departments to ensure that market risk is considered in decision-making.
Attend meetings of the Risk Committee and provide input as required.
Maintain accurate records of all trades and positions.
Undertake ad hoc analysis as requested.
Degree or Masters qualified in business management, finance or economics preferred.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in banks or trading firms dealing with oil & petroleum commodities.
Experienced in interacting with different levels of seniority.
Proven computer skills and the willingness to learn new processes & applications.
High degree of initiative and ability to work independently.
Well organized and detail oriented who can work under pressure.
Able to work in a diverse culture.
Technical & Behavioral skills:
Sound Import and Export trade related knowledge and experience.
Sound knowledge of Inwards/Outwards Remittances processes.
Experience in handling applications and submissions including letters of credit, Transferable documentary credit, standby letter of Credit and other specialized documentary credit.
Experience in handling bank guarantees locally and outside UAE.
Experience in document checking and documentary credit opening.
Solid command of both written and verbal English
Detail conscious approach with the ability to work effectively and independently.
Experience with statistical software programs such as R or SAS.
Proven experience in handling /coaching teams.
Prior experience to successfully driving initiatives/projects.
Ability to prepare management reports and presentation to internal and external customers.
